What
is the effect of camera and flash compensation
on TTL flash ?
Here
I want to show you the effects of different
exposure using compensation skill and TTL
fill-in flash technique to get optimal results.
Which one do you like the best ? Your TTL flash is a very powerful tool to
painting the light. It is one of the most
important invention in camera technology.
Combining TTL flash with different metering mode
of your camera can yield very different results.
Here are 4 pictures taken side by side with
different settings on the Bismarck Palm
to
show the various exposure control of a camera.:
|
+1
stop. f/4.0.
Notice the lighter tone on the Palm
leaf but over exposed ambient light.
|
|
|
-1
stop.
Notice the darker tone. It has a certain
drama to the darker tone but no shadow
detail.
|
|
-1.5 stop TTL fill-in.
Note this
picture, it has shadow detail
from the fill-in flash and good control on
the ambient light.
|
 |
|
Full
TTL without flash compensation . It is
overexposed by at least 1 stop..
|
|
As you can see that
there are many ways to create a picture
just by using different compensation for
main exposure and TTL fill-in flash. |
